Mielikki is the first calf of Mansikki. She was born in the summer of 2021. Mielikki is an ancient Finnish name, traditionally connected to the Wife of the God of Forests. .

Mielikki, according to her name, has shown quite royal, and slef-guided attitude, although she is sweet and easily befriended with.

She is still drinking her mother's milk, but we are already giving her all the other fodders to support her growth. Her daily intake costs roughly Rs. 2,500/- monthly. Help us support her growth into a full-fledged Queen of Forests at:

Mansikki was one of the very first cows to arrive to Divya Rasa in 2019 as a one-year old cow. We have been naming all the cows according to Hindu Gods. Yet, as there is a Finnish person in the trust, we gave one of the newcomers a traditional Finnish cow name: Mansikki. Mansikki is a sweet-bent word for strawberry.  

From the beginning Mansikki has been showing great kindness and affection towards humans. Since it was time to deliver and start milking her, she has proven to be one of the easiest and calmest cows to work with. It is also a daily delight to go to the cow shed and have her approach you to give a lick and a nudge. She is also one of the most yielding cows when it comes to milk.

As of now (April 2022), it is Mansikki and Lalitha, who are the milk-yielding cows of Divya Rasa. As she is milking and feeding Mielikki, we are giving her some extra nutritious food, which costs us Rs. 3,000/- a month.
